Good Monday Morning,
Burrrrr...... Hard way to start the week, but I heard that it will warm up later this week. Did you enjoy your exra long weekend? I hope so and that you are ready to start the week rested and ready to go.
Allagash is going to view the musical this morning so the schedule will be abbreviated again. Check out the times for each class outside in the common area.
In math class we are going to continue on with our work with algebra. Finding the like terms and of course combining them to simplify the expression. We should be able to move onto solving equations today. Very related to expressions but with a few new twists and turns where you need to balance both sides. Hang on, it is easier than it sounds.
The homework for the day: page 329-330 # 4,7,11,12,14,15,16,17,18 Solve and check these equations.
There will be a tutorial time to review all the operations in fractions and integers - come in if you plan on taking a retest on chapter 6 or if you are still shaky on those concepts.
The chuckle for the Day:What did pi say to i?
Get real!!! Hee Hee Hee....
Have a great day.

Good Thursday Morning,
Today is a half day for students today followed by a whole day off on Friday, so enjoy your extended weekend.
But for today in math class, we do have to do some work on simplifying expressions by combining like terms. Hope your homework(practice 7.2 B) went well last night. We will look ths over and get to your questions you still may have. I also will be checking for the test corrections and parent signatures for Chapter Test 6.
The homework for the weekend is for you to make sure you practice on working with the 4 operations with decimals, fractions, and integers if you are not automatic with these.
The chuckle for the day: A new government 10 year survey that cost $3,000,000,000 revealed that 3/4 of the people in America make up 75% of the population. Hee Hee Hee...
Have a fun packed and long weekend.

After correcting the homework from last night(p.324 # 6-17)and getting through any questions you may have, and all the vocabulary words you need to understand( terms, like terms, coefficients, constants, and variables) we will work on homework.
The homework for the day: Practice 7.2 B even numbers. Show all your work on the back of the worksheet or staple another sheet of paper to the Worksheet.
The chuckle for the day:
Math teacher: "What is 7Q plus 3Q?
Matt: 10Q.
Teacher: "You're welcome." Hee Hee Hee...

Good Morning this fine Tuesday,
In class today we are plowing into writing variable equations and expressions from verbal models. After going over any questions you may have from the homework( page 319 #7-41), we will start to simplify the expressions. We have gone over what terms are and need to understand LIKE TERMS to be able to simplify expressions and equations. Some other important vocabulary words are coefficients, constants and variables.
Classwork ( homework) : Page 324 # 6- 17
The chuckle for the day:
The six year old to his dad: "I need help with a math problem that I couldn't do at school."
Dad: "Sure, how can I help?"
Kid: "Well, it a really hard problem: There are four ducks swimming in a pond, when two more ducks come in and join them. How many ducks are now swimming in the pond?"
Dad: "You couldn't do that? All you need to know is that 4 + 2 = 6!"
Kid: "Do you think I am stupid! Of course I know that 4 + 2 = 6. But what does this have to do with ducks?!!" Hee Hee Hee.....
FYI:
!/2 student school day on Thursday
No school for you on Friday.

Well today is Wednesday and it looks like another regular day- wow, 3 in a row....
In math class we will be going over the homework from last night on page 301 #1-14 all and trying to answer any and all questions you may have on the chapter review. This would include + - x / with positive and negative numbers, the distributive property and the coordinate plane system. SO come to class ready with any questions you may have to be prepared for the chapter 6 test on Friday.
The corrections and signatures from the chapter 5 test will be looked at also.
The homework for the day is to do the chapter 6 test in the book on page 304. Again the chapter 6 test is on Friday.
IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY DIFFICULTIES WITH ADDING SUBTRACTING, MULTIPLYING OR DIVIDING FRACTIONS OR POSITVE/NEGATIVE INTEGERS, COME INTO MY CLASS THIS TUTORIAL FOR SOME EXTRA HELP.

Good Tuesday Morning,
In math class we will be going over any questions on the homework(page 296 # 7-30) from last night on the coordinate plane system. We will be going over the all important concept of DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY. This is a math law that allows us to distribute - spread out- the term outside the parentheses to each of the terms inside the parentheses. This is an extremely important property and will lead us nicely into chapter 7 when we evaluate EQUATIONS. After that we will pass out all the tests that I have in my hands!! I know it is about time! As always, corrections must be made on a separate sheet of paper stapled onto the tests complete with a parent signature. We need to keep parents in the loop as to how you are doing and this is just another way for most of you to brag to them on your progress in math.
The homework for the day:
1. Corrections and signatures on the tests.
2. page 301 #1-14
3. Review for the upcoming test on Friday over chapter 6.
The chuckle for the day: There was a nickle and a dime rolling on a bridge. The nickle fell off. Why?
The dime had more "cents"!!! Hee Hee Hee....

Good Monday Morning,
Welcome back to a regular Monday. Yes, a regular Monday!!! So in Math, we will be going over the 4 operations using negative integers quickly and taking a small pop quiz for understanding. We will then move onto the coordinate plane and the vocabulary associated with that. This should be a review from last year but we may need to blow out the cobwebs!!!
The homework for the day is page 296 # 7-30. You will need graph paper for this.
The chuckle for the day: What has 2 hands but can not carry anything?
A clock!!! Hee Hee Hee....
Progress reports are due back signed by parents.

Wow, just listening to the weather forecast on tv and it looks quite gloomy. Stay tuned for any delays or cancellations tomorrow.
But for today in math class, we will be going over the review packets today. How are you finding the wording of the problems? Somewhat different than our book huh? We will go over any questions you may have especially dealing with strategies to solve these problems.
Homework will be to continue on with the packet and also do the review work on chapter 6, 7 or 13 on classzone .com.
THe chuckle for the day: How many times can you take 5 from 25?
Only once, after that you are taking it from 20!! Hee Hee Hee...
